The property contained two units on a 1,500 sf lot with no parking. While the front house is a California beach bungalow, the new rear building is designed to maintain a continuity of scale though divert from that style with a new modern style. The client wished to create parking by essentially lifting the existing rear unit. After multiple entitlements, a parking garage was created while ‘moving’ the rear unit to the second floor and giving it a modern facelift. Completed in 2014.
